Decorating a Mason Jar with Burlap
Last year when my sister got married everyone decided on a country theme for the wedding. We were left racking our brains overnight for getting the perfect décor at an affordable price when I was struck by a brilliant idea of recycling my trash of used mason jars. I had learned about burlap mason jars in Get Inspired Everyday! and was raring to go. With a little motivation my team of siblings joined in and we churned out a laudable collection of burlap mason jars.
Materials
- Mason jar
- Burlap in any color of choice (or just the plain raw version)
- Jute twine
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
Steps
- Cut out a 14” X 4” strip of burlap that can completely cover the jar excepting its bottom and top parts.
- Wrap the strip around the mason jar allowing it to overlap neatly at the back.
- Cut a 32” length of jute twine and use it to secure the burlap in place making a bow in front.
- Trim the excess tag ends.
Make it into a beautiful vase by filling it up with a bouquet of flowers. Sunflowers or roses look elegant in it.
